In Plain English

What this Article actually means

This Article requires co-operative board elections to be completed BEFORE the outgoing board's term ends, ensuring a seamless transition with no governance gap — and leaves it to state law to designate the specific authority responsible for conducting these elections, which many states have set up as a dedicated Co-operative Election Authority.
Why This Matters To You

How it shows up in everyday life

This is why your co-operative's board elections must be organised in advance rather than left until after the sitting board's term has already lapsed — preventing the kind of indefinite, unelected continuation in office this entire Part was partly designed to prevent.
