Consumer Complaint Checklist

Before You Complain

  • Keep the receipt/invoice, product photos, and any chat/email records.
  • "No refund" store policies don't override your rights for a genuinely defective product.

Steps, In Order

  • 1. Raise it in writing with the seller/company — keep a copy.
  • 2. Call the National Consumer Helpline: 1915 (or consumerhelpline.gov.in).
  • 3. If unresolved, file with the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (District/State/National, based on claim value) — no lawyer required for smaller claims.

You're Entitled To

  • Repair, replacement, or refund for defective goods or deficient service.
  • This applies to online/e-commerce purchases too.
